The average GP Practice in England needs to provide around 700 clinician appointments every week which is challenging and expensive to organise.
Around 17.5%** of these are for minor ailments which could be seen by a community pharmacist. This is a substantial amount however only a fraction are being recognised by reception teams and streamed to pharmacies.
Whereas Referral Flow helpfully alerts reception teams when symptoms can be deflected to a community pharmacy.
Some practices are referring hundreds of appointments into the Pharmacy First scheme every month, freeing up considerable clinician time and resources.
